Missouri Delta Medical Center Foundation

     The Missouri Delta Medical Center Foundation was formed in 1991 as a not-for-profit 501 C-3. This organization is the chief fundraising arm of the Missouri Delta Medical Center of Sikeston, Missouri. Since the inception, the Foundation has provided over $3 million for important projects vital to Missouri Delta Medical Center thanks to the donors of the hospital's three county service area of Scott, Mississippi and New Madrid Counties.

     The Foundation funded the O'Bannon Family Care Center, opening in 1996, being one of the first centers in the area to offer labor, delivery and recovery room suites. Most of the equipment for the Robert A. Dempster ReStart Physical Medicine complex was funded through the Foundation. ReStart provides a full compliment of professional rehabilitation services such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, industrial outreach and sports medicine. Major funding was provided for the renovation of the emergency room at Missouri Delta Medical Center in 2000. The Foundation provided $350,000 in funds to help with the construction of the Jaycee Renal Dialysis Center. This 6,000-square-foot center will provide much-needed space for patients requiring this life-saving treatment. Projected opening date for the Jaycee Renal Dialysis Center is May, 2003.

     The Foundation has also funded medical and nursing scholarships, telemetry monitors for the critical care unit, lifeline units for the homebound elderly in our three-county services area, and major equipment for our radiology unit.
