Missouri Delta Medical Center Community Care Center

What Is The Community Care Center?
Margaret Dicus is a nurse practicitioner at Missouri Delta.      Missouri Delta Medical Center and the Mississippi County Health Department have joined forces to provide the Community Care Center, a designated Missouri rural health clinic. The Community Care Center offers primary family health care to residents of our service area in a convenient, easy to access clinic adjoining the Mississippi County Health Department. Appointments are encouraged, and walk-ins will be accepted according to time availability. A sliding fee schedule based on income is available for the uninsured and those with financial needs. The Community Care Center is staffed by family nurse practitioners in a collaborative agreement with a physician.

What Is a Family Nurse Practitioner?
Judy Menz is an RN with advanced education and clinical expertise.
Nurse practitioners deliver high-quality, cost effective, primary health care to people of all ages, newborns through elderly. They assess health status by taking health histories and performing physical exams. They may order and interpret laboratory tests, x-rays and developmental and screening tests to identify health problems and risk factors. Nurse practitioners may diagnose and manage common acute minor illnesses and injuries and stable chronic illnesses, and prescribe non-narcotic medications appropriate for treatment. They work collaboratively with a physician, who is available for consultation, care review and patient referral. Health education and counseling is a special strength of the nurse practitioner.

Our Nurse Practitioners
Judy Menz and Margaret Dicus are registered nurses with advanced education and clinical expertise. Their credentials include master's degrees in nursing from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, certification as family practitioners and pediatric nurse practitioners. Their clinical backgrounds include medical-surgical, emergency services and intensive care nurses. Judy and Margaret work closely with Robert Robbins, D.O., and Gregorio Rodriguez, M.D., in a collaborative practice agreement.
