October 2020 Employee of the Month

Eric Slaughter, RN, BSN

Join us as we honor our October Employee of the Month, Eric Slaughter, RN, BSN. Eric currently works as the Safety & Infection Control Specialist for Missouri Delta and serves a vital role in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eric began his journey at Missouri Delta in March of 2011 as a nurse on the Telemetry Floor then in Case Management before he was promoted to the Infection Prevention, Safety & Emergency Preparedness Nurse.  In his time here, he has been voted Employee of the Month twice!

One coworker wrote, “Eric has taken the role of our Safety and Infection Control Nurse since the retirement of Joy Cauthorn. He has and continues to fulfill this position with great knowledge and exemplary skills. Soon after taking this position, he was faced with multiple challenging events; such as The Joint Commission survey, management of the first aid tent at Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo, and numerous meetings. He meets these challenges with great outcomes and always gives more than 100%. When COVID-19 hit, he dug his heels in further and continues to persevere, knowing it was his job and never complained. He continues to spend countless hours devoting his time to the ongoing work required for COVID reporting and other aspects of this pandemic, in addition to his other job responsibilities. Overall, I consider Eric an absolute asset to MDMC!” “His responsibilities are great but he manages each one with valor and dignity.”

We couldn’t agree more! Congratulations, Eric on this much-deserved honor!
