Missouri Delta Medical Center Announces Opening of Sahai Medical Building
Sikeston, MO — Missouri Delta Medical Center (MDMC) has announced the opening of the Sahai Medical Building, a newly renovated 10,000-square-foot facility designed for improved access to specialized urology and surgical care.
Located at the former Robert Dempster Physical Medicine Complex known as ReStart, the Sahai Medical Building is scheduled to welcome patients in early February 2026. The facility will serve as the permanent home for Dr. Animesh Sahai, Urologist, Dr. Muhammad Aman, General/Vascular Surgeon and Dr. Razvan Iorga, General Surgery, in a modern, patient-centered environment called Missouri Delta Surgical & Urology Clinic.
“We are deeply grateful to Missouri Delta Foundation and to Drs. Animesh and Madhu Sahai for their generosity,” said Jason Schrumpf, President and CEO of Missouri Delta Medical Center. “Their support made the Sahai Medical Building and the Surgical & Urology Clinic possible and will have a lasting impact on access to specialty care for patients throughout Southeast Missouri.”
“This project reflects our shared commitment to ensuring high-quality healthcare,” said Amy Alcorn of the Missouri Delta Foundation. “The Sahai Medical Building represents the kind of forward-thinking investment that strengthens our healthcare system, supports our physicians, and most importantly, improves care.”
Originally constructed in 1993, the building underwent a comprehensive transformation to become a state-of-the-art medical facility. Renovations included a complete infrastructure overhaul with a new roof, modern HVAC systems, enhanced security, and upgraded fire detection technology. Exterior improvements—such as a refurbished patient drop-off canopy and updated lighting—were prioritized to improve safety and accessibility.
Inside, the building is thoughtfully designed to support both shared efficiencies and specialized patient care:
Missouri Delta Urology Clinic: Relocating from its current North Main location, the new clinic will include eight exam rooms, 2 private consultation rooms, four procedure rooms, and an in-house laboratory with specimen pass-throughs to enhance patient privacy.
Missouri Delta General Surgery Clinic: Currently located in the Lawrence Family Medical Building, the new surgery clinic will include a dedicated suite featuring six modern exam rooms, two advanced procedure rooms, and five private rooms for patient consultations.
Both clinics will share a centralized reception area and a modern lobby designed to streamline the check-in process. Staff will also benefit from a new 20-person conference room, supporting collaboration, training, and continuing medical education.
Missouri Delta Medical Center remains committed to delivering advanced, high-quality care close to home for residents of Southeast Missouri.
