Adolescent Behavioral Health Unit (Ages 12-17)

In Missouri, suicide is the second leading cause of death among children under the age of 19. Since 2003, the suicide rate among children and adolescents in the state has risen by 129%. In response to these alarming statistics, Missouri Delta established a 15-bed Adolescent Behavioral Health Unit in 2020, specifically designed to provide intensive inpatient psychiatric care for children and adolescents ages 12-17.

The Adolescent Behavioral Health Unit at Missouri Delta offers a comprehensive treatment approach, incorporating psychological, behavioral, and pharmacological interventions within a secure, structured, and supportive environment. Our treatment goals focus on alleviating fear, anger, depression, and anxiety; helping patients recognize and understand their emotions; fostering essential social skills; and enhancing self-esteem.
