Cardiac Rehabilitation

Cardiac Rehabilitation

Cardiac Rehabilitation is a comprehensive, physician-prescribed program designed to enhance cardiovascular health following a cardiac event or procedure. The program includes monitored cardiovascular exercise aimed at strengthening the heart muscle, educational initiatives, and additional support services. It is tailored to help individuals with cardiovascular conditions achieve optimal health, resume daily activities, and reduce the risk of future cardiac events.

Missouri Delta’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is specifically designed for patients with a history of chest pain or those recovering from a stent placement, heart attack, or heart surgery. Our cardiac rehabilitation specialists develop personalized exercise plans based on each patient's unique needs. Through supervised exercise sessions, educational resources, and group support for both patients and their families, participants learn strategies to adapt to a healthier lifestyle.

The program is offered on an outpatient basis, with patients attending sessions one to three times a week for up to 12 weeks. Equipment utilized during the program includes a treadmill, seated stepper, stationary bicycle ergometer, and an arm ergometer.

To ensure safety and effectiveness, electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring is conducted on-site by a registered nurse, and all patients are continuously monitored via a trans-telephonic connection.
