What is Inpatient/Acute Rehab?
Inpatient Rehabilitation is the process of assisting those who have a disabling condition due to injury or illness. Inpatient Rehab builds strength, endurance and independence with a goal of returning patients to their prior independent lifestyle. Located on the second floor of Missouri Delta, the Inpatient Rehab staff of therapists work with patients providing Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy.
Missouri Delta Inpatient Rehab Treats:
Stroke | Amputation | Major Multiple Trauma | Active Rheumatoid Arthritis | Brain Injury | Neurological Disorders | Spinal Cord Injury | Hip Fracture | Congenital Deformities | Other Debilitating Conditions causing decline in ADL's (reviewed on case-by-case basis).
Qualifications:
Patients MUST have medical necessity that requires physician attention during their rehab stay (examples include, but not limited to hypertension, anemia, dysphasia, oxygen desaturation, confusion/disorientation, uncontrolled diabetes.)
Missouri Delta Inpatient Rehab Offers:
Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapies | Community Integration Program.
When does a patient get discharged from Inpatient Rehab?
The Rehabilitation team will work with the patient and family to determine appropriate discharge destination. Over 80% of patients from the program return to their home which is above the national average for similar programs. If necessary, therapists will work with the family to safeguard their home setting with site visits.
