Non-Invasive Diagnostic Services

The Non-Invasive Cardiology Department at Missouri Delta Medical Center offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic cardiology procedures. These services are provided by a skilled team of registered nurses, cardiac sonographers, and cardiology technicians. All procedures are conducted using state-of-the-art equipment to ensure the highest quality of care:

Electrocardiogram (EKG, ECG)
An electrocardiogram measures the heart's rhythm, rate, and electrical impulses, providing essential information about its electrical activity.

Echocardiogram
An echocardiogram uses ultrasound technology to visualize and assess the heart's structure and function.

Holter Monitor (24/48 hours)
A Holter monitor is a portable ECG device that continuously records heart rhythm and rate, which can be worn discreetly under clothing to detect abnormalities.

30-Day Event Monitor
This monitor is worn for 30 days, allowing patients to record any irregularities by pressing a button when they feel an abnormality.

Exercise Stress Test (Treadmill)
An exercise stress test evaluates the heart’s function during physical activity, helping to assess cardiovascular health under stress.

Nuclear Stress Test
The Cardiolite Nuclear Stress Test is performed in conjunction with a treadmill or, for patients unable to walk, with Lexiscan, a pharmacological agent used to simulate exercise.

Stress Echocardiography / Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography
These tests combine echocardiography with cardiac stress testing to assess the heart’s function. A treadmill is typically used, or, if necessary, Dobutamine is administered to simulate exercise in patients unable to walk.

Tests for Assessing Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD)

Ankle Brachial Index (ABI)
A simple, non-invasive test used to screen for peripheral artery disease by comparing blood pressure measurements in the ankle and arm.

Segmental Pressures
This test uses cuffs and Doppler technology to identify areas of narrowing or blockage in the arteries, providing crucial information for the diagnosis of peripheral artery disease.
