We Care How You Breathe

The Missouri Delta Medical Center Respiratory Care Department is available 24 hours a days with primary concentration of coverage in the adult intensive care unit, newborn nursery and pediatrics, emergency room and medical and surgical floors.

Our goal is to exceed patient expectations by providing both immediate assistance and by helping achieve the outcomes of a multidisciplinary care plan for all patients.

Respiratory Care Services

Therapists actively participate in a variety of in-patient and out-patient therapies. Our scope of practice encompasses patients of all ages with both acute and chronic pulmonary dysfunction and disease.

The respiratory therapist’s expertise is arterial blood gases, emergency response, ventilation management, evaluation and assessment, therapeutic treatment, patient education and diagnostic testing.

Breathe Easier with Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Through an individualized treatment plan, including advanced assessment, supervised exercise and education, patients learn how to manage their condition, live better and avoid future health problems.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation can reduce shortness of breath; improve endurance and increase independence and quality of life.

Who Benefits?

Patients with COPD make up the majority of patients who are referred to Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs. However, patients with respiratory symptoms that result in decreased lung function or decreased quality of life may find the program beneficial.
